Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix was a natural athlete and developed a passion for sprinting in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed 2nd in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
