Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actress and singer. In her career, which spans over six decades she has appeared in musical theatre, television and film, performed solo concerts and released recordings. The critically and acclaimed Broadway performer she has won seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She has won three. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway performances.
Many believe Peters to be the greatest Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is most well-known for her performances on Broadway, such as in Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
